The price of petrol is rising once more, with companies hiking up costs for fuel across the country.
The rising prices at the pumps mean that drivers are paying more to fuel up, with motorists paying up to £20 extra to fill up their tanks depending on which petrol station they visit, according to the first-ever official forecourt figures.
The list now includes the latest prices from 60 per cent of the forecourts across the UK, according to the CMA. Seven motorway forecourts are currently charging 179.9 per litre for petrol and 182.9p per litre of diesel while the average price for standard petrol is 154.3p, with diesel 157.9p, the latest data states.
The figures mean that there can be over £20 of a difference in prices depending on which location is visited. For example, for someone driving a Nissan Qashqai, it would be £22.55 cheaper to fill up their tank at this petrol station, compared to the most expensive motorway forecourts.
