Ross Chastain was involved in another incident during a NASCAR race, this time crashing with Kyle Larson as the two battled for the lead in the final laps of Sunday’s Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway. The Athletic’s instant analysis:
Just last week, he was involved in a pit road fight with Noah Gragson that earned national attention and a guest spot on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
After two prior restarts in which Chastain and Larson exchanged slight contact, Chastain tried to squeeze Larson up to the top side of the track in order to make a pass but ended up wrecking both drivers instead. An angered Larson then kept his foot on the gas and shoved Chastain’s car for roughly 100 yards down the track.
This is the third time in the last month a Chastain-triggered incident has resulted in Larson crashing and losing a chance at a victory. If you’re a NASCAR fan, there’s likely very little chance you feel neutral about Chastain at this point.
