To launch Oscar week, Vanity Fair is opening its archives for a special exhibition titled Vanity Fair: Hollywood Calling—the Stars, the Parties, and the Powerbrokers
issue that pictured her posing nude while seven months pregnant with her second daughter,The photograph, taken by Leibovitz, was originally intended only for Moore and her then husband,convinced her it deserved to be a cover. The resulting shot was groundbreaking and highly controversial. “The whole exhibit is so spectacular. The history that’s been captured is extraordinary, and I’m really honored to be a part of it,” said Moore, who attended the party with her oldest daughter,“I’m really proud of the photo that Annie shot. It was a courageous moment that helped change the way we looked at women when they are pregnant. Being pregnant is suppose to be beautiful and freeing, and I hope people were empowered by it.
