USA TODAYCharges have been filed against a man accused of delaying rush hour traffic in Los Angeles last year with a near-naked spectacle.
Alexander Dunn, 30, was charged with five criminal counts — resisting an officer, causing a public nuisance, two counts of trespassing, and failure to abide by a peace officer’s instructions. Dunn is a rapper who calls himself "Dephree." Last June, Dunn allegedly scaled a highway sign, unveiled posters with messages like"Fight pollution, not each other," and danced on the ledge. Eyewitnesses reported that he shouted"My name is Dephree, and I love God" on a megaphone. The stunt resulted in a miles-long traffic jam and required two large yellow inflatables in order to get the man down from his freeway perch. Itended when the man backflipped onto an inflatable. He was unharmed.
"This outrageous conduct required the intervention of precious emergency services to assure it ended safely, stopped traffic for nearly two hours and interfered with the lives and work of thousands of commuters," said City Attorney Mike Feuer in a statement. "We will hold the defendant accountable for his reckless, selfish actions."Contributing, Ryan W. Miller, USA TODAY
