Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James was ejected from Monday night’s game after he administered a vicious hit to the head and neck area of Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Ashton Dulin.
Following the play, the referees flagged James for a personal foul and disqualified the strong safety from the contest. He had three tackles, one interception and one pass deflection at the time of his exit.
Dulin, meanwhile, was immediately ushered to the locker room to be evaluated for a head injury after the hit. Monday night was James’ first game back after missing the previous two contests due to a quadriceps injury. The Chargers' versatile safety was selected to his third Pro Bowl this season. He entered the game with 106 tackles, four sacks and one interception in 2022.Follow USA TODAY Sports' Tyler Dragon on Twitter
