With the general elections approaching, special voting began on Monday, 27 May, but a polling station in Parklands, Cape Town, faced unpreparedness.
Special voting accommodates those unable to vote on the main polling day, 29 May.
Officials were forced to call the supervisor as they searched for the missing stamp, leading to a halt in voting shortly after 9:30am. Voters were informed they awaited the arrival of the regional manager, with political party agents present during this delay. Despite the lack of announcement from the regional manager, an Economic Freedom Fighters party agent stepped in, providing a detailed explanation to waiting voters.
