May's local elections saw a dramatic turnover in Lincolnshire's district council leadership.
The group gained significant support in the elections, winning 19 seats and reducing the Conservatives to just five. It will be business as usual at the City of Lincoln Council after the Labour leadership lost just two councillors during the recent elections. Liberal Democrat Councillor Trevor Young, representing Gainsborough South West, was confirmed as the new council Leader of West Lindsey District Council after the recent elections left the authority with no overall control.
At the AGM, Councillor Wright explained plans to appoint a Sustainability Champion who will collaborate with the sustainability team, local parish councils, and external organisations. SKDC’s leadership, however, is hanging on by a very tight wire with Councillor Cleaver batting away a Conservative bid to hold on to power by just one vote.South Kesteven Coalition Conservative leader Councillor Graham Jeal was supported by 23 of the Conservative party and three Independents.
