Chandler police arrested a man on Thursday who is suspected of having lead a 7-year-old boy away from his bus stop and sexually assaulted him in July at an apartment complex.
Arrest documents state that the boy told police that he arrived at a bus stop too early so no other children were around and asked a man on a golf kart who had three letters on his shirt for help. The boy's mother was dropping another child off at a different bus stop but returned after realizing her son had forgotten his backpack, according to court documents.
Documents say police served orders to various members of the apartment's male staff members, including Delcampo, to provide their DNA. Delcampo initially agreed to meet with police but then stopped responding to calls until Aug. 5, when his step father called and said Delcampo was very busy and couldn't meet for two weeks but would send a written statement, documents state.
