Prime Minister Succès Masra has resigned following his defeat to junta leader Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno in the May 6 presidential elections. Masra, a prominent opposition figure and critic of the junta that took power in 2021, was appointed as prime minister in January to appease the opposition.
