The Saskatchewan Roughriders don the pads for the first time at this year's main training camp at Griffiths Stadium in yxe. CFL

It was the first time that the Riders donned shoulder pads at this year’s main camp, which continues Wednesday morning at Griffiths, once again with pads. Any time there’s a potential risk to injury, Dickenson admits there’s added concern, but it’s not much different than any other day. “There’s concern every day as a coach,” noted Dickenson. “It’s like being a parent. You want to give them freedom to grow and to push it a little bit, but you’re always concerned about their safety. That never changes, whether we’re doing skelly or we’re doing full pad. You’re always concerned about it. You’ve got to do it to get better.”
