It was a sad day when Ratanga Junction tore down the famous Cobra, but Cape Town locals can now head back to Century City for a different kind of rush. The inaugural Ratanga Park Sunset Concerts at Century City will take place this Sunday, 24 February, in the wonderfully restored Ratanga Park, with the first event featuring the spectacular SAMA Award-winning Afrikaans alternative band, Die Heuwels Fantasties , and opening act, famous Cape Flats rapper Jitsvinger .
View this post on Instagram A post shared by Cape Town Music Academy In terms of the new direction in presenting large-scale events, the Carols by Candlelight which was traditionally held in Central Park since 2009, was renamed Carols in the Park and moved to Ratanga Park in 2022. The 2023 event was held on Sunday 3 December, where 2000 attendees came together on the lawn in the park and enjoyed a family-friendly evening.
