Central Health will be moving patients and residents at Grand Falls-Windsor facilities so that they are not in contact with smoke as a result of ongoing forest fires in Central Newfoundland. UnsplashGRAND FALLS-WINDSOR, N.L. — Central Health is offering to move patients and residents who are most vulnerable following theThe state of emergency was prompted after forest fires caused smoke and deteriorated air quality in parts of the central region.
If a patient needs to be transported, Central Health will contact the listed person listed on the notify contact that the transfer is taking place and where the patient will be located.Emergency services at the Central Newfoundland Health Centre remain open in Grand Falls-Windsor, however, there will be a shift of emergency services for rural sites offered by CNRHC during temporary closures.
The Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre will be closed on Aug. 7 from 4 p.m. to Aug. 8 at 8 a.m., and on Aug. 8 from 2 p.m. to Aug. 9 at 8 a.m.
