Census 2022: Population growth, internal migration highlight need for economic reforms

“If we could fix the harbours in KwaZulu-Natal, that will be a magnet for economic growth and a magnet for migration as well. There are many things that government could fix, not only the harbours. For example, investing in proper infrastructure. That is something that can be done to fix that,” Roodt said.Roodt believes that people move to Gauteng and the Western Cape not only for economic opportunities, but also for the quality of services provided by these provinces.
