Celtics guard Marcus Smart has been fined $50,000 after shoving Sixers centre Joel Embiid during the teams' game on Wednesday.
This is the third time this season Smart has been fined for unsportsmanlike conduct, which played a role in the penalty handed down by the NBA this time around, according to the league.
“Smart’s fine was also based on his repeated acts of unsportsmanlike conduct during NBA games, including two prior incidents this season which have resulted in fines,” the NBA announced in a press release.In 71 games this season, the 25-year-old guard has averaged 8.7 points, 4.1 assists and 2.9 rebounds for the Celtics.
