The South African government held the official Human Rights Day event, which marked the commemoration of the 1960 Sharpeville massacre at George Thabe Stadium in Sharpeville, on Thursday.

Scores of political parties joined the commemoration as some marched to the memorial site to lay their wreaths, while others celebrated the day in some form of mini music festivals. Meanwhile, tensions and squabbling kept rising between PAC supporters and the police over their firing of guns as they marched up and down the streets.A squabble breaks out between marchers and police.
