Dramatic scenes played out in the KwaZulu-Natal High Court in Durban on Friday when three people charged with the murders of celebrated botanists Rodney Saunders, 73, and his wife Rachel, 63, demanded their grievances against a witness be read out in court

At some stage, the court had to adjourn for more than 30 minutes to allow Aslam del Vecchio, 41, his wife, Fatima Patel, 31 and Malawian national Ahmad Jackson, 37, to consult their lawyers.
