Cele, 25, is not in the plans of the club’s head coach and is likely to leave with the coach preferring Brazilian midfielder Luizao over the KwaZulu-Natal–born star.In the case of Thabo Cele the matter is simple: coach Constantin Galca does not see him in his team. The South African international spent his preparations at the COSAFA tournament, where he presented himself well. We hear that after returning to the club he looks very good, but his position has not changed.
According to reports doing the rounds locally, Chiefs have tabled an offer for Cele, who has been in Europe since 2017; however, the website reports that the player is keen to remain in Europe despite local interest in his services. “Thabo Cele received several inquiries from South Africa – the local clubs were also interested in him before coming to Radom. Then, as now, however, the player rejects the option of returning to Africa and makes it a priority to stay in Europe. At the moment, the club has no specific offers and is waiting for the development of the situation,” read the statement on the site.
Chiefs expressed an interest in Cele during Stuart Baxter’s second stint at the club, but the coach had preferred the recently departed Cole Alexander instead.
