The CCRCE is seeking family input of students at Salt Springs Elementary, Scotsburn Elementary, and West Pictou Consolidated as it reimagines current overlapping catchment areas. Stock ImagePICTOU, N.S. — The Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education is seeking family input in western Pictou County to redefine the catchment areas of three local elementary schools.
The current catchment areas for Salt Springs Elementary, Scotsburn Elementary and West Pictou Consolidated overlap, which leads to inefficient bus routes. The catchment areas also make it difficult for CCRCE to adopt its new Bus Planner online information system. The boundary adjustment discussion will also cover the potential of adding a preschool program to West Pictou Consolidated, the only elementary school in the county without one.
CCRCE has opened an online engagement period for community members to share their ideas and suggestions for the new catchment areas, set to take effect in the 2023-24 school year.Families and community members can provide input through an online tool called ThoughtExchange, and through voicemail, email or traditional mail.It has been our privilege to have the trust and support of our East Coast communities for the last 200 years.
