Cavin Johnson, the interim coach of Kaizer Chiefs, is not concerned about his future with the club despite their recent struggles. The team's supporters have been calling for a decision on the coach before the end of the season. Johnson took over as interim coach after the sacking of Molefi Ntseki in October, but the team's performance has been inconsistent. Despite this, Johnson remains optimistic about his role.
Amakhosi have struggled for results since the PSL resumed in February. Many of the club’s supporters have urged the management to decide on the coach before the season ends.
Amakhosi are in the process of getting a new coach since sacking Molefi Ntseki in October. Johnson has slotted in as interim coach but has had a mixed bag of results. Although he started well, the wheels came off once when the league resumed following the Africa Cup of Nations.
“But like I said, everybody thinks it’s interim, there’s no such thing as an interim coach, you take the team and you work until the team doesn’t need you anymore, so yes, I’m doing the best I can as the coach and taking this brand of football to the best we can for the last nine games,” Johnson added.
Former Chiefs defender Mokete Tsotetsi said the club should let Johnson keep his job under one condition. “To be honest, if management is comfortable with coach Cavin Johnson, I think they can keep him to maintain continuity because he started in the middle of the season,” he told
