St. Thomas officials on Tuesday confirmed Enzler’s resignation but declined to comment on the surrounding circumstances. The Italian-born educator was a private banker for 19 years before he co-founded a classical-curriculum high school in New Hampshire with his wife, according to a resume obtained by the Houston Chronicle. Enzler said there that he most recently worked at the Catholic University of America’s Busch School of Business and Economics. He did not return immediate requests for comment.
Simms said he became angry when he uncovered Enzler’s allegedly falsified background — especially working for a Catholic institution that should value fairness and truth.
