Hong Kong's privacy watchdog did not find evidence that Cathay Pacific's IT department restructuring contributed to the data breach that affected 9.4 million passengers. The restructuring was overseen by Paul Loo, Cathay Pacific's chief customer and commercial officer who was previously director of corporate development and IT. He is a contender to be Cathay's next chief executive.
