A lucky black cat survived being stuck beneath a condemned building for nearly a fortnight
Moggy Poppy was finally set free on March 28, after she was trapped in a building which was destroyed by a takeaway blaze 12 days earlier. Owner Josephine Gillen, 21, has a total of five cats, and is seven months pregnant.
Josephine said: "I could never have imagined that being in a fire would be that scary, but it was horrible. I heard someone shouting in the street outside and when I turned around to tell my boyfriend he said there was already smoke in the flat. Fire crews were quick to arrive at the scene and a total of up to six other cats were later returned to safety. Poppy could not be enticed to leave and found herself stuck in a building which was condemned by Glasgow City Council.
