Jacob Masters made the shock decision to quit the ED, unable to move forward in the aftermath ofJacob has found himself blamed by Robyn's grief-stricken colleagues, who can't help but think he played a role in her untimely demise.That's because Jacob encouraged Robyn to stay on and work an extra shift, when she was already exhausted after a long day.
Tonight's scenes explored the aftermath of this as Jacob struggled to navigate the day of Robyn's funeral.Despite being suited and booted and ready to pay his respects, Jacob became unsure over whether he should be attending the service at all. After hearing Paige question whether Paul would actually want him there, Jacob decided to stay back in the ED and work instead. Faith also agreed this would be a good idea.His guilt festered as he treated grieving father Clark, who claimed to have a message for Jacob from beyond the grave.
