Casey Jarvis carded a seven-under 65 at St Andrews to take a two-stroke lead into the final round of the Alfred Dunhill Championship, with Matthew Jordan and Adrian Meronk tied second.

Casey Jarvis moved a step closer to winning the Alfred Dunhill Championship after building a two-stroke lead heading into the final round on Saturday. Jarvis shot a seven-under-par 65 on the Old Course at St Andrews to reach 18 under overall, maintaining his fine form at the links event.

Jarvis Extends Lead at St Andrews

Jarvis, who held a one-shot advantage overnight, opened with an eagle on his approach from 103 yards. He then picked up three birdies ahead of the turn despite windy conditions. Two more birdies on the back nine, at the third and fifth holes, saw him sign for a 65.

The tournament is played over three courses: Carnoustie, Kingsbarns, and St Andrews, with the latter also hosting the final round on Sunday. Jarvis is aiming to seal a third DP World Tour win this season.

He expressed his excitement about leading at the iconic venue, saying he felt in control of his game and that every golfer dreams of taking a lead and playing the Old Course on Sunday. He added that he had goosebumps just standing there and could not wait for tomorrow, promising to enjoy the experience even if he does not win.

Jordan and Meronk Share Second Place

Englishman Matthew Jordan and Poland's Adrian Meronk are tied for second at 16 under. Jordan, chasing his first DP World Tour win in his 183rd tournament, carded a bogey-free 66 during his third round at Kingsbarns. Meronk shot the joint-best round of the day with a nine-under 63 at Kingsbarns.

Belgian Thomas Detry is at 15 under after his seven-under round at St Andrews. Denmark's Jacob Skov Olesen, who also made a nine-under 63 at Kingsbarns, is four shots off the lead at 14 under.

Background and Final Round Setup

The Alfred Dunhill Championship is a prestigious event on the DP World Tour, held annually over three renowned Scottish links courses. The tournament attracts top golfers from around the world, with the final round always played at the Home of Golf, St Andrews.

Jarvis, who has already won twice this season, is in a strong position to add a third title. Jordan and Meronk will be looking to chase him down in the final round on Sunday.

The windy conditions at St Andrews tested the players, but Jarvis handled them well, highlighting his skill and composure. The stage is set for an exciting conclusion to the championship.
