Residents woke up to their cars sinking in inches of water this morning following the heavy rainfall last night.
Cars have been submerged in water after heavy rainfall battered the streets of a Scots town last night.
It comes as the Met Office issued a danger to life weather warning for parts of Scotland. An amber alert is in place for heavy rain in areas including Dumfries and Galloway as well as the Scottish Borders. A yellow warning for rain is in place in much of the central belt and southern parts of Scotland. Some roads and railways will be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.
Elsewhere, Scotrail routes have been cancelled due to tracks being swamped from the downpour. Flooding has led to several closures across major routes within the central belt.
