The first wreck occurred around midnight in north Houston, when a homeless man suddenly crossed the North Freeway feeder at Greens Road, a witness told authorities. One driver, who had a green light, could not stop in time and hit the man, police said.

She was not intoxicated and is not expected to face charges, according to Metro Video. Paramedics took the man to the hospital in serious condition, and he died. The second crash happened around 1:25 p.m. in the 10100 block of Telephone at Swiftwater, in southeast Houston. An unknown driver sped their black Honda CR-V north on Telephone and struck a pedestrian, continuing to drive four blocks before abandoning the car, Houston police Sgt. David Rose said.Police are investigating the vehicle.
