Carlos Yulo capped his stint at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Series in Doha, Qatar on Saturday, March 4, after capturing the silver medal in parallel bars at the Aspire Dome.

Still fresh from winning bronze in vault a few hours ago, the 23-year-old Yulo resumed his campaign with a near flawless execution to finish with 14.933 points. FIG, the world governing body of the sport, described Yulo’s performance in social media as smooth as the Tokyo Olympian emphasized each element on parallel bars so well “that by the end of his routine, each skill is eliciting its own round of applause.”But Ukrainian Ilia Kovtun, who dominated the first leg of the series last week in Cottbus, Germany, remained unbeatable in the apparatus with a complex yet impeccable routine to clinch the gold medal with 14.966.
It was a big improvement from last week’s performance where he managed only a bronze in parallel bars while failing to advance in vault, rings and floor exercise. The third leg of the series will be held on March 9 to 12 in Baku, Azerbaijan before the last and final leg on April 27 to 30 in Cairo, Egypt.
