. The duo spent some time talking through how Donald Trump is handling the coronavirus crisis and why Sanders endorsed Joe Biden for president. But first “Uncle Bernie” wanted to check in about his nails., holding his hands up to the camera. “How they looking?”
Cardi then talked about Sanders’s decision to drop out, and said she has been encouraging her followers to vote, but is worried about their enthusiasm for Biden. Cardi said too that her focus on Sanders’s campaign didn't give her the time to research Biden, but she’s still planning to vote for him to stop Trump.
“A lot of people, like the youth, they don’t really rock with Joe Biden because he’s conservative,” Cardi said. She explained that she thought former president Barack Obama, who, was smart to pick Biden as his vice president in 2008 because it was an appeal to more moderate voters. Cardi then asked Sanders to make the case for why more progressive voters should now vote for Biden.
“What I am also trying to do right now, Cardi,” he continued, “is to work with Joe to see that he becomes a more progressive candidate.” Sanders said he expects Biden to stand for a $15 minimum wage, college opportunities “regardless of income,” and canceling student debt for “a lot of people.”
