In the prologue of one of those books it was suggested that the profits from the books would go to the charity that bears his name
Captain Sir Tom Moore’s daughter has said her family kept £800,000 in profits from three of his books because it was “what he wanted”.
"The charity is mentioned in one of the books.” He claimed that the prologue of Captain Tom’s autobiography, Tomorrow Will Be A Good Day, also seems to suggest it was raising funds for the foundation. The money was paid to her family firm, Maytrix Group, and she banked £16,000, donating £2,000 to the Captain Tom Foundation. This summer, the foundation stopped taking money from donors after planning chiefs at Central Bedfordshire Council ordered that an unauthorised spa pool block at Ms Ingram-Moore’s home should be demolished.
He added: “That looks like you are giving yourselves as a family a nice little treat, but you’re using the Captain Tom Foundation umbrella to justify that.” Ms Ingram-Moore said it was paid for with their own money and “not one penny” has come from the foundation.
