Hale-Cusanelli has become somewhat of a leader among jailed Capitol riot suspects and has continued to harbor a fondness for Nazi writings and symbols, prosecutors said in pre-sentence reports. Last year, they included in court filings pictures of him wearing a Hitler-style mustache. His lawyer, Nicholas Smith, argued his client had repeatedly been placed in a false light by the “distasteful” and “self-sabotaging” mustache pictures, but he’s really a nice guy who helps others.
