Early reports from Cape Town Tourism reveal a vibrant December peak period with several attractions experiencing strong visitor numbers. The Western Cape emerged as the most popular destination during the holiday season, with attractions like Table Mountain Aerial Cableway seeing a surge in both local and international visitors. Despite some weather disruptions, many attractions, including Cape Point Nature Reserve, Chapman's Peak Drive, and the Two Oceans Aquarium, reported significant growth in visitor numbers. Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and Groot Constantia faced some challenges due to weather and fewer events, but still enjoyed a successful festive season.

Early reports from Cape Town Tourism have revealed that the Mother City had a vibrant December peak period at several attractions.According to the January Domestic Travel Take-up Report, which surveyed 1 100 South Africans, 54% travelled over the December holidays, with the Western Cape emerging as the most popular destination .

“It’s heartwarming to see so many South Africans enjoying their backyard,” Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Executive Director, Selma Hercules said. Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and Groot Constantia enjoyed a successful festive season despite facing some challenges. Both Cape Town destinations experienced a dip in visitor numbers, mainly due to poor weather conditions and fewer events compared to 2023.

“Despite these hurdles, these attractions remain beloved by visitors, with their unique charm and appeal shining through in the enthusiasm of those who experience them,” Cape Town Tourism said.In October, Tashreeq Morris scored the only goal of the match to help SuperSport United beat Kaizer Chiefs at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
