An estimated 80 000 people are expected to gather at the Grand Parade and surrounding areas on Sunday, 1 December, for the City of Cape Town ’s annual Festive Lights Switch-On ,The highly anticipated event marks the official start of summer and promises an unforgettable day of entertainment under the theme ‘People of Hope.’
Attendees will also enjoy the iconic video mapping of the City Hall, a dazzling spectacle that has become a hallmark of the event.The City of Cape Town is pulling out all the stops to ensure the safety and enjoyment of attendees. The Safety and Security Directorate, in partnership with the South African Police Service and private security teams, will be on high alert throughout the event.
