A police officer stationed at the Forensic Science Laboratory in Plattekloof has been arrested for rape. The 6-year-old boy and his mother had been visiting the officer's home when the incident happened.A Cape Town police officer has been arrested for allegedly raping a 6-year-old boy.

IPID spokesperson Phaladi Shuping said:"The boy's mother visited the police officer, who is a neighbour. She was accompanied by her 6-year-old boy. The mother fell asleep on the couch after they drank alcohol, and the police officer allegedly raped the boy while the mother was sleeping."
