Cape Town City have confirmed their second signing of the transfer window, bringing in Jordan Bender who was playing in Major League Soccer in the US.
Having already secured the services of experienced campaigner Marc van Heerden, the Citizens have now brought in a player who will be seen as one for the future. City have given some youngsters a chance to shine in the PSL and Bender could get the same opportunities under head coach Eric Tinkler.Bender, born in Florida, is a 21-year-old was playing for Orlando City in the MLS and has shared a dresssing room with former Manchester United player Nani, as well as ex-AC Milan forward Alexandre Pato.
Bender, who plays as an attacker midfielder, has previously played for the USA under-16 national team, as well as the under-20 side. City, meanwhile, start their season with a clash against reigning DSTV Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns on Friday, August 5. The two clubs have previously had some classic clashes and their supporters will no doubt be looking forward to a cracking start to the new season.
