Cape religious leaders call for safe hygiene practices to combat the coronavirus The Western Cape Religious Leaders Forum has strongly encouraged communities of Faith throughout the province to heed the advice of the health department and NICD.
Cape Town - The Western Cape Religious Leaders Forum , meeting in council at the Ahlul Bait Mosque in Ottery, Cape Town, on Thursday 12 March 2020, notes with grave concern the growing impact of the novel coronavirus on the human population.
The WCRLF has strongly encouraged communities of Faith throughout the Western Cape to heed the advice and guidelines provided by the National Department of Health, the National Institute for Communicable Diseases, and the World Health Organisation in seeking to contain the spread of Covid-19, while combating fear by continuing to draw on the gift of our belief systems and our trust in God.
The WCRLF acknowledges the ongoing struggles of the majority of people in the Western Cape in grassroots communities, and encourages communities of Faith to embrace hygiene practices that will help limit the impact of the coronavirus on vulnerable individuals, while remaining beacons of hope in these times of additional threat and hardship.
