Residents live in fear and law enforcement is at their wits' end on the Cape Flats as violence and gang activity continues.

Residents of the Cape Flats are increasingly concerned and alarmed by the continuous gang activity. The situation is undoubtedly spiralling out of control. Another three people lost their lives this past weekend in Elsies River, Cape Town.

According to Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi from the Western Cape police, multiple shooting cases over the weekend overwhelmed law enforcement officials. “Currently the entire Cape Flats is facing an unprecedented increase in gang related gun violence.
