The Port Hood-based Islanders were blanked 3-0 by College Claretain Graal of Quebec at the Superior Propane Centre.Cape Breton West’s record falls to 1-1-0 at the tournament. Graal’s Nelian Martel picked up the win in goal. Cape Breton West’s Rhyah Stewart was tagged with the loss. Statistics were not provided.Meanwhile, the Rush were doubled 6-3 by the Halifax McDonalds at Superior Propane Centre.
Casey Wentzell had a hat trick, scoring three times, while Xavier Rivard, Ray MacDougall and Callum Aucoin potted single markers for the McDonalds .Halifax’s Russ Decoste was the winning goaltender. Sydney’s William Stonehouse shouldered the loss. Statistics were not available.
