The Quinn Hughes watch is over. The Canucks’ top prospect will be heading to Vancouver on Tuesday.
The Vancouver Canucks signed the 2018 seventh-overall pick on Sunday to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Hughes, 19, just completed his second collegiate season with the University of Michigan Wolverines. He was the top scorer on the team with 33 points in 32 games this season. “Quinn is an exceptional skater, strong on the puck and plays with creativity and vision. He was a leader on his team at the University of Michigan and has had success at the international level. We’re excited for Quinn to join our team and continue to grow his game as a member of the Vancouver Canucks,” said Canucks general manager Jim Benning in a release.
Hughes will travel to Vancouver on Tuesday. The Canucks’ next game is on Wednesday at Rogers Arena against the New York Rangers.
