Canadian dollar edges lower as oil prices fall GlobeBusiness
The Canadian dollar edged lower against its U.S. counterpart on Thursday as oil prices fell, but the loonie performed better than most other major currencies as the greenback broadly climbed.
The price of oil, one of Canada’s major exports, fell on Thursday after U.S. President Donald Trump called for the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries to boost crude production to lower the price of the commodity.U.S. crude oil futures were down 0.8 per cent at $58.95 a barrel.
