Canada is set to be the first country in the world to print health warnings directly on individual cigarettes, the government announced on Wednesday, which was World No Tobacco Day. The regulations come into force on Aug. 1, 2023.
In a statement, Health Canada said the labelling of individual cigarettes, little cigars, tubes, and other tobacco products supports the government’s goal to drop countrywide tobacco use to less than 5 per cent by 2035.
