Towels, toilets and teeth – Canadians are hiding dirty little secrets about all three
We’re a nation who likes to tell everyone we’re on top of cleaning and sweeping and proper brushing – but the reality is many across the nation don’t really practice what they like to preach.
“The findings suggest millions of people neglect their personal hygiene for weeks and even months on end,” noted Hannah Norton ofThis advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below.The survey revealed that more than half of the respondents in all three countries admitted to washing their bedding less than the recommended once a week – and that one in three confessed to washing their bedding as little as once a month.
“For the perccentage of Canadians, Americans and Australians who only clean their bed linen every few months or not at all, it seems they have no problem sleeping in it,” write Norton, who also pointed out another area of health concern: Brushing one’s teeth: “While a considerable portion of the population claim to uphold good hygiene practices, there is an alarming number of people who admit to infrequent cleaning habits,” like teeth brushing.
The study showed Australians tend to be lagging on all fronts, when compared to their North American counterparts.
