ICYMI: Ongoing construction for the new Capstan station requires shutdowns at 10:30 p.m. on three nights. Extra buses will be brought in.

Commuters between Bridgeport and Richmond-Brighouse stations will have to rely on buses after 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 2, 3 and 4 as crews work on the station. The early shutdowns are for the safety of both workers and passengers, says TransLink.

The crews will be using cranes to install large pieces of steel to connect the top of the station’s H-frames. It can’t be done safely while trains are operating. Extra buses will be brought in to get passengers to and from Bridgeport and the Canada Line Richmond terminus. The nighttime closure affects customers using Bridgeport, Aberdeen, Lansdowne and Richmond-Brighouse. Buses will stop at each of those stations about every 10 minutes.

There are no changes to service from Bridgeport into Downtown Vancouver, and there will be extra trains travelling from Bridgeport to YVR-Airport during the work.Share this article in your social network
