Canada giving $71 million to humanitarian response to Sudan conflict

International Development Minister Harjit Sajjan made the announcement Wednesday in Ottawa, saying the funding will go towards food aid and improving access to clean water, sanitation and health and hygiene services, including providing medical treatment to victims of sexual violence. The money has been allocated to organizations already on the ground in the region, including the United Nations, Red Cross and non-governmental partners like World Vision, he said.
