The City of Ottawa is recommending travelling by public transit on Canada Day, especially as OC Transpo will be offering no-charge special service all day long.
Canada’s “biggest annual party” is headed back to LeBreton Flats Park for a second straight year, hosted byThe event is set to feature over two dozen performers throughout the day, with free performances to run from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. and from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Other activities include a glitter makeup booth, an interactive gong installation, selfie stations, body marbling, a visual arts workshop presented by Indigenous Experiences and a souvenir bracelet making workshop. taff said the decision follows recommendations from the province’s forest fire agency, the Société de protection des forêts contre le feu. The authority has also banned open fires in Gatineau, les-Collines-de-l’Outaouais and Pontiac regions.Canadian Heritage will also be hosting free performances by Canadian artists on pop-up stages across the city, on Wellington St. and the Portage Bridge.
