Canada grounds Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 9 aircraft models

Transport Minister Marc Garneau speaks during Question Period in the House of Commons, Ottawa, May 16, 2017.

Canada is issuing a"safety notice" for Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 9 aircraft that will effectively keep those planes from flying in Canadian airspace, Transport Minister Marc Garneau announced Wednesday morning. Garneau said the decision came after the federal government received new information earlier in the day.
