Canaan Mdletshe is seen during a joint media briefing at Sandton Sun Hotel in Sandton. Mdletshe announced his resignation from the NFP .
Resigning as a member of the National Freedom Party on Friday, self-proclaimed former secretary-general Canaan Mdletshe said his"conscience would not allow" him to be part of a coalition with the ANC, DA and IFP in KwaZulu-Natal. Mdletshe, who isn't recognised by the current leadership, refers to himself as the secretary-general and told journalists that talks between the MK Party an NFP were led by him and that they were at an advanced stage.
But, at a press briefing on Thursday, where party leaders announced their affiliation to the coalition, NFP president Irvin Barnes expressed his irritation with journalist"friends" who still referred to Mdletshe as the party's leader and described Mdletshe as"rogue".South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future.
