A group of employers join forces in calling for the county to become the UK's first to pay the wage.

The scheme recommends paying workers a minimum of £10.90 per hour, more than the government's national living wage of £10.42. A group of cross-sector organisations joined forces earlier to launch the campaign at St Michael's Church, Newquay. He said: "I didn't do it to make more money but because of the way the team then works, because of the guest experience and because of the repeat bookings and the recommendations, we've gone from strength to strength.One of his employees, Warren Constance, said: "Just that little bit extra helps with petrol or care insurance to be able to get out and go to work - things like that, so it is really important.
