Published: May. 17, 2024, 10:53 a.m.Camp Hill Council Member Bonnie Bentz voted no to appealing the court’s ruling deeming our sign ordinance unconstitutional. She said, , “With almost $300K in fees, plaintiffs fees, that we are now responsible for ... I don’t personally want to risk the taxpayer money by now increasing the plaintiff fees through the appeals process.”

Council President, Jennifer Hoover said, “I will support the appeal and do so with common sense and intelligence.” The seven remaining members also voted yes, stating they needed the court’s instruction on how to rewrite the ordinance.Mr. Stinnet is to protect the taxpayer from lawsuits and appeals such as this.

A council member issued the statement, “They are exploring options with their legal counsel.” Seriously? Please, keep taking advice from the solicitor who win or lose is smiling all the way to the bank. Common sense and intelligence is recognizing when to throw in the towel. Common sense says, to scrap the old ordinance and start from scratch with a new solicitor. Common sense says, let’s start negotiations with the plaintiffs’ attorney to mitigate this mess.It seems common sense isn’t so common. If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
