The Hoops skipper is in line for a return for Sunday's blockbuster clash at Ibrox
John Kennedy believes leader Callum McGregor can give Celtic another huge lift for Sunday’s title showdown against Rangers.
Reo Hatate’s outstanding return from an injury lay-off in the weekend win over Livingston gave a big boost to the champions for the run-in. McGregor’s return would offer yet another big lift to the squad as Kennedy explained: “It does and that’s what good players do. It’s not just their impact as a player. It’s very much about what they do for people around them.
“He’s the captain, the leader of the group. Everyone turns to him. The good thing is that outwith Callum, we have other good leaders in Joe , Cameron , Ali Johnston and these boys. They can pick up when he’s not there. Celtic’s numbers are building at a vital stage of the season. Rodgers has been without key stars for lengthy periods throughout the season. Hatate has started just six games all term, while Carter-Vickers has been absent for matches due to fitness issues.
