Toronto hip-hop artist Akintoye, Portland-based singer-songwriter Emma Ruth Rundle, Brooklyn Black metal act Liturgy, Canadian-American metal supergroup Sumac, Philadelphia punk-rockers Mannequin Pussy and death-metal trio Suffering Hour have also been announced. Portland’s 1876, made up of northern Cheyenne and Blackfoot members, will perform as will R&B/hip-hop singer-songwriter Amindi.In early December, the festival announced American indie-rock artist Bartees Strange as this year’s guest curator. Among his choices are Mia Berrin’s indie-rockers Pom Pom Squad, Chicago singer-songwriter Kaina, Japanese multi-instrumentalist jazz-rapper Sen Morimoto, Montreal math-rockers Gulfer and Brooklyn avant-garde rapper Maassai.
